Philmont Day 1. The first day. (Tent City) : After riding all night in the bus we finally arrive at Philmont. Stepping off the bus in to a cool mid 40’s temps was a big change from the 90’s we left back in Dallas. There isn’t much down time the first day. We met our ranger Jenny Friday and I have to say she was the best ranger in the group. Her outdoor and teaching skills were outstanding. I’m very thankful we got Jenny as our ranger. We went from station to station getting info and signing forms. After everyone made it through the med check it was on to the shake down. Then church and the opening camp fire finished our day.
